"The first that enters into the place of your meeting ... turn in thy mind to the light, and wait upon God singly, as if none were present but the Lord: and here thou art strong. Then the next that comes in, let them in simplicity of heart sit down and turn in to the same light, and wait in the spirit; and so all the rest coming in ... In such a meeting there will be an unwillingness to part asunder, being ready to say in yourselves, it is good to be here: and this is the end of all words and writings to bring people to the eternal living Word."
(Quaker Faith & Practice, 2.41)

Sidcot Quakers meet for Worship
every Sunday
from 10:30 until 11:30
and every Thursday
from 6:30 until 7:00

Visitors are always welcome.

What to expect...

Meeting begins when the first person enters the room.

Sometimes the hour of Meeting may be completely silent. At other times people may stand and speak - "minister" - for a few minutes each.

Ministry arises from the silence. It is typically not prepared in advance. It is heard without discussion, response or interruption.

The Meeting ends when two designated people shake hands. (This role rotates, so will be performed by different people each time.)

After meeting...

Your neighbour may also offer you a hand to shake.

After brief Notices and a retiring collection in aid of the current appeal, coffee and tea are served in the Children's Room (adjacent). Visitors are warmly invited to stay and chat.
